Not exactly the greatest president ever, but the oldest at 95, a pretty honorable guy, served in WW2, the big one, a LT in the Navy !

Not many vets left from that war .

He got destroyed in the 1980 election to RR by 489-49 !

His funeral will cost billions, every postal worker and Federal employee gets a day off with pay, probably right in the Xmas rush to boot !

Is your grandfather, or father still alive?

Do you wonder what the cost is when they die?

Pretty lame.

Grandfathers died before I was born, father lived 1920-1993, but I still get junk mail addressed to him 3 states and about 14 addresses later.

When he died a million+ Federal employees didn't get a day off with pay and mail delivery didn't stop for a day !

they'll just give them extra mail to deliver until they catch up. they'll actually save money on heat and electric by closing post offices and save a ton on gas by not running those mail trucks.

Once a week delivery would be fine with me, that's about how often I fetch the mail unless I ordered something and I want it.

That's not practical, the LLV's are not big enough for that, anything labeled standard mail ( aka 3rd class is not even worth opening ). I haven't been in a post office in years, or sent a letter or written a check ( probably 10+ years on that one ).

It's all about package delivery which FedEx does a better job of.

Carter wasn't a very popular president, he only had to beat Gerald Ford, most remembered for falling out of airplanes...

Reagan gave him the biggest beating ever for an incumbent president.

489-49 Carter only won 6 states and DC !

He may not have been a successful president, but if you ranked the presidents in the order of who was a quality human being, Carter would be near the top.

I don't wish him dead or anything , there is no one on Earth I want to see dead !

JC is the longest living president of them all at 95 !, I doubt he has any quality of life left, As far as I know his wife is still alive as well ?

He seems like a very decent man, a WW2 Navy veteran ( made LT), those WW2 vets are about as rare as getting a buffalo nickel in change.

A good man, just not quite mount Rushmore or statue material !

He is nearing the end however . I no longer know a single veteran of that war, nor even a Korean vet, even Vietnam vets are pushing 70.

I respect the man .

The only president since JFK that didn't get every Federal "worker ", a day off with pay upon death was Nixon.

It's a strange tradition, at a large price !

Who is next after JEC ? Bush Jr, Trump, Clinton, Bam-Bam ?
